Manager Robin Geffen runs portfolio with a division between steady companies, recovery plays and sector calls
Robin Geffen's boutique Neptune is close to profitability for the first time since its launch at the start of 2003, much of which is due to the popularity of the £157m income portfolio he manages. The fund has returned 17.7% over the year to 10 October 2005, against a return from the UK Equity Income sector of 19.2%, bid to bid, according to Standard & Poor's. Since the fund's launch on 1 January 2003, it fares better however, ranking 21 out of 72 in the sector based on a return of 60.03% against a sector average gain of 57%.
