There is little uniformity among the top-performing funds in the UK All Companies sector with top-down and bottom-up strategies both strategies achieving success. Standing out from its competitors as the best three-year performer is the Saracen Growth fund, co-managed by Jim Fisher and Julian Fosh, which takes a determinedly non-thematic, stockpicking approach. Over the three-year period to June 2006, the fund made bid to bid returns of 132.61%, compared to a sector average of 64.65%, according to data from Standard and Poor's.
