European high-yield bonds are generating highest returns in Global Bond sector while investment grade suffers

Funds focused on European high-yield bonds have seen the highest returns in the Global Bond sector over the past three years, with vehicles investment grade debt suffering in performance terms. In a sector that includes all funds with at least 80% of assets in fixed interest stocks, except those with over 80% in UK debt, the peer group is made up of products as diverse as absolute return and sovereign debt-focused vehicles to products holding high-yield corporate debt.
