Stephen Adams took over Aegon UK Equity in April 2004, transforming a perennial underperformer into one of the UK All Companies sector's most consistent offerings. When he inherited the vehicle, three managers had come and gone in quick succession, Matt Harris, Steven Laidlaw and Mark Peden, and the fund was bottom quartile over one, three and five years.
