Until recently, emerging markets within the Middle East remain a largely untapped source of opportunity within sports and entertainment sectors. This, over the past decade, has seen a significant change.

One of the biggest threats facing sports and entertainment investment in this region of the world has been conservative values. Conflicting social norms such as alcohol use, although legal, are largely frowned upon. Conflicting idealisms in the region have caused issues over the past century, which has then been further magnified by Western society's lack of understanding of the different cultures, means Western tourists may be put off to traveling by underlying negative associations.
