Ex-Brook AM managers Whitbread and Rachmaninoff resurface at Ninety One and Newton IM

Sophia Whitbread has joined Ninety One as a global financials analyst, while Mathieu Rachmaninoff has returned to Newton Investment Management as a fund manager, resurfacing over five months after the closure of the Brook Global Emerging Markets fund was first announced.

Whitbread and Rachmaninoff co-managed the Brook GEM fund at Odey Asset Management subsidiary Brook Asset Management. Odey AM subsidiary to shutter Brook Global Emerging Markets fund Brook GEM was closed in September 2023, following a significant reduction in assets over the summer. As of the end of July 2023, the fund's assets had sunk around 68% to £26m, following a plethora of sexual misconduct allegations against Crispin Odey in June of that year.
