Quaero's Monaco unveils 'active deselection' approach for Global Equity fund

Quaero Capital has launched its Global Equity fund, which has been seeded by manager Gianluca Monaco and external investors.

Launched on 20 June and with $6m AUM so far, the fund is now fully invested into a "highly-liquid" portfolio of stocks with a minimum market cap of $2bn. Overall, there are currently 44 equally-weighted positions, with expectations the range will sit between 40 to 60 stocks. The fund is targeting 3% to 4% excess performance after fees over the cycle. Monaco, who joined Quaero in May having previously worked at Ardevora, said two analysts will be joining his team next month and together they will scour global stockmarkets using the cognitive psychology and behavioural finance approach ...
