I would like to offer a small wager. I am willing to bet a lavish lunch (involving sandwiches and a glass of wine) that in five years' time, the single fastest growing asset management product offering within the UK market will be managed ETFs.

In particular, I would bet we will see over £50bn sitting in these accounts, with wealth managers falling over themselves to launch products. To help explain why I think huge change is coming, I first have to break one of my own rules – not giving too much publicity to existing providers who shout from every available rooftop about their ideas. I personally happen to quite like Alan and Gina Miller of SCM and think their campaigns are usually spot on.
