"Inheritance Tax is pernicious…. We should abolish it." It's hard to disagree with comments like this. Most people in financial services would agree, and arguably any of the major parties that announced they were going to abolish IHT would be guaranteed election. Except of course the current chancellor couldn't promise that because he'd have a black hole in his finances and the Conservatives don't appear to be brave enough to commit to anything as sensible as this. These comments come not from a mainstream political party, but from what can only be described as a political maverick. And ...
