'Flooding to last for months' screamed the headline from one of London's free newspapers, Metro, as I began to write this. As I pondered what I would be writing about, I realised that not only are we all going to be flooded and soaked to the skin until Christmas, but the general election campaign is under way. Of course, no one has actually told us, although several of the national newspapers have speculated on dates - October or next Spring were both mentioned.
