When was the last time you did something for free for a client? Judging by some of the advisers I've been talking to in the last few weeks, I guess it's increasing. When I say 'something for free' I am talking about a piece of financial advice or planning that you couldn't charge for: checking MoneyFacts to see which is the best - and safest - high interest deposit account, main banks and building societies are generally paying poor rates; or providing a little bit of last minute advice of completing a tax return; or just getting clients to focus on a few basics - like debts versus inco...
