Including both positive and negative screening of stocks, ethical and sustainable responsible investing (SRI) is an area of the market many advisers and investors remain reluctant to go. Poor performance is often cited as a reason for this but Mark Campanale, head of SRI Business Development at Henderson Global Investors, and Audrey Ryan, manager of Aegon Asset Management Ethical Equity fund, argue performance in ethical funds can rival mainstream portfolios and that ethics should be a consideration of all fund managers.
