Legal & General Investment Management's (LGIM) chief investment officer Anton Eser is leaving the firm and will be replaced by deputy CIO Sonja Laud.
Anton Eser has been CIO of LGIM since 2017, having previously been co-head of global fixed income at the firm.
In a statement, LGIM said Eser is returning to South Africa where he intends to assume a more hands-on investing role, with an emphasis on social impact investing and ESG-focused investing in Africa.
Laud joined LGIM in January of this year from her previous position as head of equities at Fidelity and will now be moving into the role of CIO. She has also worked with Barings and Schroders prior to her latest role.
Laud has 17 years of experience in the asset management industry, having worked as a senior global macro fund manager and an asset allocation specialist, aiding in the development of outcome-orientated solutions.
As deputy CIO at LGIM, Laud has been involved in the shaping of the management structure of the investment team.
LGIM commented: "Anton has made a significant contribution to the success of LGIM over the past 13 years in his roles as head of fixed income and as CIO. We wish him every success in the future."
