BlackRock sees senior management reshuffle as indexing head promoted to key role

BlackRock is seeing a reshuffle of its senior management team, which could see Mark Wiedman, formerly head of index investing at the giant asset manager, become the heir-apparent to the running of the group.

Wiedman is being promoted to a new role where he will oversee international operations, corporate strategy and marketing and report directly to CEO Larry Fink, according to the FT. In a memo seen by the FT, Wiedman will be charged with "developing and driving [BlackRock's] corporate strategy globally" in his new role.  Fink wrote: "The changes transforming our industry put premium on strategy to drive growth, on unifying our focus on international markets, and on using our brand to drive our business.
