SJP chair Sarah Bates retires from role

St James's Place (SJP) chair and director Sarah Bates has stepped down from her roles on the company's board.

Bates, who joined the board in 2004 and became chair in 2014, will be replaced by the current senior independent director Iain Cornish, while Roger Yates will take over Cornish's role as senior independent director.  Bates took the decision to step down after overseeing the transition of Andrew Croft to chief executive following David Bellamy's departure at the beginning of the year.
