FCA appoints Sier to chair cost disclosure working group

Part of 'remedies' suggested in Asset Management Market Study

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has appointed Chris Sier to chair a working group on disclosure of costs and charges for institutional investors, one of the regulator's "remedies" put forward in the final report of its Asset Management Market Study.

Sier, who is professor of practice at Newcastle University Business School, is well known for his work on the Local Government Pension Scheme's (LGPS) transparency code, which was launched in June. The regulator previously outlined a range of "remedies" in its final report of its Asset Management Market Study, published in June, including appointing an independent convenor to chair a working group to "see more consistent and standardised disclosure of costs and charges to institutional investors".
