Former pensions minister Webb and Schroders' Nicoll recognised in New Year's Honours

Former pensions minister and Royal London's director of policy Steve Webb has been handed a knighthood in the New Year's Honour's List while Schroders' head of public policy and former FSA director Sheila Nicoll has received an OBE.

Webb (pictured), who was pensions minister in the Conservative/Liberal Democrats coalition government from 2010 to 2015, has been knighted for his political and public service. His time as pensions minister saw a radical shake up of the retirement market, including the pensions freedoms in 2015, introduction of auto-enrolment and the New State pension. He joined Royal London as director of policy and external communications for its pensions business in August 2015.
