Hubwise launches fractional ETF dealing service

Platform Hubwise has started offering fractional dealing in ETFs to its clients in an effort to simplify retail investment in these vehicles.

Investors using the platform will now be able to invest exact sums of money in ETFs through fractional units, up to four decimal places, mirroring what investors have been able to do with unit trusts and OEICs. Previously, the ability to only buy a full share in an ETF has resulted in residual cash or different asset weightings within portfolios. Until recently, investors have only been able to buy whole shares in single-company stocks or ETFs on platforms.
