Andy Sowerby, previously sales and marketing director at Martin Currie, has become Legg Mason's head of Australia.

Sowerby (pictured) spent 11 years as executive director for sales, marketing and client service at Martin Currie, which was bought by Legg Mason in 2014. He will take on the responsibility of building and managing the Legg Mason business in Australia, which includes investments in pooled funds and mandates with affiliated fund managers such as Martin Currie, Western Asset, Brandywine Global and EnTrustPermal.
