AXA appoints French political adviser Boone as chief economist

AXA Group has appointed French political adviser Laurence Boone as chief economist and head of research at AXA IM, as current chief economist Eric Chaney sets his retirement.

Boone joins in March from her role as a special adviser to the French president François Hollande on European economic and financial affairs. She was also chief economist Europe at Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Research, and chief economist France at Barclays Capital. In the new role at AXA IM, she will also sponsor AXA IM's client relationships with sovereign wealth funds, central banks and state pension funds.
