Aberdeen's Chong to depart after more than two decades

Asian investment director's decision follows industry break

Aberdeen Asset Management's Asian equities investment director Chou Chong will leave the company after 21 years.

Chong, who has been based in Singapore as part of Aberdeen's Asian equities team since 2008, will leave at the end of the year, extending an earlier decision to take time away from the asset management industry. The team, which manages a wide range of Asian equity funds, will continue to be led by head of Asian equities Flavia Cheong following Chong's departure. Chong first joined Aberdeen Asia in 1994 and spent time in Australia as investment director before transferring to London to lead the pan-European equity team and returning to Singapore in 2008.
