£1.5bn trust issues new shares

The £1.5bn Witan investment trust has issued £7.8m worth of shares in its latest fundraising.

The trust has issued 1,000,000 ordinary shares at a price of 783p per share, amounting to a total sum of £7.8m. Following this issue, the trust, run by CEO Andrew Bell (pictured), has the ability to issue a further 9,005,100 ordinary shares under its blocklisting facility. The last time the £1.5bn trust issued equity was on 29 October, with 500,000 ordinary shares issued at 781.5p each at the time.
