Columbia Threadneedle appoints former Neptune UK equity head Smith

Joins in new role as head of UK equity research

Former Neptune manager Jeremy Smith is joining Columbia Threadneedle Investments in the newly-created role of head of UK equity research.

He was formerly head of UK equities at Neptune Investment Management, and manager of the UK Equity fund before his departure in 2010. His career also includes a stint as director in the UK large cap team at Schroders. Smith was most recently part of the equities sales team at investment broker Liberum Capitala and overall has 23 years of experience in the financial services industry. He will begin his new role in September and will be based in London, reporting to Leigh Harrison (pictured), head of equities for Europe, as the group strives to expand its equity research capabilities...
