Dampier sells £890k Hargreaves stake

Mark Dampier, head of research at Hargreaves Lansdown, has sold nearly £900,000 worth of shares in the company after exercising share options.

Dampier exercised options over 100,000 shares last Friday at an exercise price of 606.3p, the platform said, part of a grant made in 2011. He then sold 72,922 ordinary shares in the company at a price of £12.23 per share, for a total of £891,836. The group said: "This sale was made partly to meet taxation arising on exercising of the share options and partly to meet the purchase costs of increasing his shareholding in the company."
