Schroders study: Morningstar loses rating service top spot

Morningstar OBSR is no longer advisers' preferred ratings service, according to a poll of over 600 conducted by Schroders.

The ratings agency, previously by far the most popular among advisers, has dropped to second place behind FE Trustnet, according to Schroders' annual adviser survey. This year, 48% of advisers polled by Schroders said FE Trustnet was their preferred ratings and research agency, up from 28% the previous year. Morningstar was most popular with 43% of respondents, down from 51% last year. Rayner Spencer Mills, which found favour with just 10% of advisers last year, also saw a significant boost, as 34% of advisers named it their most used in 2014.
