Morningstar has appointed former Kleinwort Benson chief investment officer Jeremy Beckwith to lead its UK manager research team.

Beckwith more recently served as interim chief investment officer for Nutmeg, has also held a senior role at Merrill Lynch Global Asset Management, and is a founder of IFA group London Wall Partners.

He will report to director of manager research for Europe, Christopher Traulsen.

Traulsen said: "Jeremy is a highly regarded leader in the fields of investment research and multi-asset investing. His extensive experience in serving investors around the world provides significant additional strength to our manager research offering."

The investment research provider has also outlined two senior roles for existing employees Jackie Beard and Ruli Viljoen. Beard, who led the promotion of Morningstar research to UK investors, will become director of manager research services for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Open-ended fund specialist Viljoen will now lead manager selection for Morningstar Investment Management Europe.
