Allianz GI to unveil US smaller companies fund

Allianz Global Investors is planning to launch a US small-cap fund for UK investors in June.

The fund will be run by a San Diego-based team, led by John McCraw. It will be launched as a SICAV and domiciled in Luxembourg. The product is a mirror of a small-cap fund open to US investors. Allianz GI sales director Daniel Lee said the focus on small caps will help differentiate the fund in a competitive market: “We have got a very creative team in San Diego and this was successful in attracting assets to the US.
