Canada Life Inv to bring high yield fund onshore

Canada Life Investments is planning to launch an onshore version of the Putnam Global High Yield Bond fund managed by its sister company Putnam Investments.

The fund - run by Paul Scanlon, Norm Boucher, Robert Salvin and Yannick Aron - is currently listed under Putnam's Irish UCITS umbrella, but the group said it intends to create an onshore version that will invest in the existing fund through a master/feeder structure. Frank Maret, head of sales and marketing at Canada Life Investments, said the launch would bolster the firm's existing bond offering. "We are strong in investment grade credit already, but we want to offer clients the option to invest in higher yielding bonds and we have the expertise at our sister company to do that," he...
