Schroders CEO: We have the strongest UK equity team in our history

Schroders chief executive Michael Dobson said the group now has the strongest UK equity team in its history - despite the departure of Richard Buxton.

Speaking after the publication of the group's interim results, which saw the asset manager reveal a 21% increase in AUM despite £1.1bn in net outflows in June, Dobson (pictured) was bullish on the group's prospects in UK equities. Former team head Buxton left the group to join Old Mutual in June, but Dobson emphasised both the strength of Schroders' existing team - home to managers such as Nick Kirrage and Kevin Murphy - as well as incoming names such as Jupiter's Philip Matthews and Neptune's Alex Breese.
