Revealed: The most consistent top quartile funds

Just 2.05% of funds achieved top quartile returns over the three years to Q2 2013, down from 4.56% from Q1, according to new research.

The data comes from F&C's Consistency Ratio, which looks at the proportion of funds in the 12 main IMA sectors that have performed consistently above average in each of the last three 12-month periods. It found 25 of 1221 funds in the 12 main IMA sectors were top quartile in each of the last three years. Four sectors - Global Bond, UK Smaller Companies, Strategic Bond and North America - had no consistent performers, with Asia ex Japan and Global Equity sectors having one consistent fund.
