Polar Capital has completed the initial public offering for its Global Financials investment trust, raising £153m in the process.
The firm aimed to raise £100m for the vehicle, managed by John Yakas and ex-New Star manager Nick Brind, and which will begin trading today. Polar Capital CEO Tim Woolley (pictured) said he was "extremely pleased" with the extent of the fundraising. "This is evidence of further delivery of our strategy of launching additional investment driven products from our existing teams and further diversifies our offering to our investors in our funds," he said.
