HSBC adds to Asian equities team

HSBC Global Asset Management has made two promotions within its Asian equities team.

Sanjiv Duggal, manager of the world's largest India fund, the $3.2bn GIF Indian Equity fund, will become head of Asian and Indian equities. He will move to Hong Kong while continuing to manage the fund. The fund's senior portfolio manager, Viresh Mehta, has also been promoted to head of equities for HSBC Global Asset Management's India business, and will relocate to Mumbai. The group said it would be adding to its India team further to provide better returns for its global funds that invest in the country, which also include the $1.2bn GIF BRIC Equity fund managed by Nick Timberlak...
