Lansdown joins Hargreaves on Forbes' billionaires list

Hargreaves Lansdown co-founder Stephen Lansdown has joined Peter Hargreaves as a member of the Forbes list of billionaires.

The annual list of the world's richest people, released by Forbes yesterday, estimates Lansdown's fortune to stand at $1.5bn. That places him 974th on the list, below Hargreaves, whose estimated net worth of $2.3bn places him 641st on the list. Lansdown (pictured) retired in November after 30 years at the firm, and continues to hold a 20% stake in the business. Hargreaves, meanwhile, holds a stake of around 32%.
