Scottish Mortgage's Anderson steps down from trust for six months

James Anderson, manager of Baillie Gifford's £2.1bn Scottish Mortgage investment trust, is stepping down from the position for six months.

Anderson has opted to take time out of the industry to write an investment book. His deputy manager Tom Slater will take over the reins until Anderson returns in the summer. "We can confirm that James Anderson, manager of Scottish Mortgage, will be taking a six month sabbatical from July, Baillie Gifford said. "During the sabbatical, Tom Slater, deputy manager, will take charge of the trust. "James will return to his previous roles at Baillie Gifford on his return."
