Blair: UK should not rule out joining euro when crisis eases

Former Prime Minister Tony Blair said the UK must keep open the option of joining the euro if the current crisis is resolved.

Speaking on the BBC's Andrew Marr Show yesterday, Blair said the UK faces an ‘interesting choice' about joining the single currency, adding it is essential the UK remains a part of Europe. "There is going to be a huge reconstruction of Europe and the UK needs to be part of it," he said. "We have something to contribute and when this political reconstruction takes place we need to be involved."
