Corporate Bond sector tops IMA bestseller list in January

The £ Corporate Bond sector topped the IMA's best-seller list last month with net retail sales of £303m, the highest level seen since August 2010.

Strategic bond funds also remained popular, in second place, while Absolute Return was the third most popular sector. Total funds under management in January edged up by 2% on the same month last year, reaching £589.5bn. Fixed income topped the asset class table with sales well above the monthly average for the previous 12 months. January saw the first inflow into equity funds since August 2011, with net retail sales totalling £63m.
