Fidelity's Di Bon joins Alliance Trust as head of global equities

Alliance Trust has appointed Ilario Di Bon, former manager of the Fidelity Global Opportunities fund, as its global head of equities.

At Fidelity, Di Bon grew the Global Opportunities fund from $250m to over $1bn of assets under management in less than two years. The fund has now been taken over by Sudipto Banerji, who has run it since October last year. Prior to Fidelity, Di Bon spent eight years at UBS Global Asset Management in London and Japan and held a number of senior roles in Japanese equities before being promoted to lead manager for global equities in 2005.
