Asia-based boutique Atlantis Investment Management has made its $41m Asian fund accessible to UK and European investors with the addition of sterling and euro share classes.
The fund is a 40-60 stock portfolio investing in undervalued growth companies where the manager sees potential for earnings uplift. Joseph Wat, the lead manager, said the move will allow investors to gain exposure to the fund’s investments in unloved Asian sectors which he believes have strong growth prospects. The portfolio is heavily exposed to transport and solar energy, which Wat said have underperformed in recent years as a result of over-supply.
