IMF chief warns of currency war 'threat'

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the head of the International Monetary Fund, has warned global currency disputes are a "real threat" to the economic recovery.

Speaking to the BBC, he said political arguments over the Chinese renminbi and the Japanese yen show co-operation between countries has broken down since the financial crisis. Strauss-Kahn says there are signs countries are trying to use their currencies as a weapon. "The willingness of the countries to work together, which was very strong at the climax of the financial crisis is not as strong today," he says.
