Secured Life has launched a fund that generates income through the repayment of loans collateralised by US life insurance policies.
The Irish-listed fund allows US cancer patients to borrow against the maturity value of their qualifying life insurance policy. Each loan is full repaid on maturity directly to the Secured Life fund. Finance director Andrew Walters says: “Given the continuing muted returns from equities and other income producing vehicles such as corporate bonds and gilts, our product is perfectly suited to major investors wanting certainty of returns over given periods.” Investors can choose between a five, seven or 10-year investment period, with each providing annual fixed returns in arrears.
