Simon King to take over Premier UK Thematic and Smaller Companies

Premier Asset Management has hired former Gartmore UK equity manager Simon King to run two funds.

King will take over responsibility for the £62m UK Thematic vehicle from Mike Jennings. UK Thematic is a focused fund, typically holding 35 to 40 large- and mid-cap holdings. He will also run the £21 UK Smaller Companies, currently managed by Chris Wright. Premier bought the funds as part of an acquisition of 10 vehicles from Aberdeen Asset Management in July.
