Former BlackRock fund manager Graham Birch has been appointed non-executive director of mining company Petropavlosk.
The miner was co-founded by Peter Hambro, whose son Evy has assumed responsibility for two funds Birch managed at BlackRock. Birch announced last month he would not return to the asset manager, where he was responsible for about $40bn of assets. He had previously taken a nine-month sabbatical from his role as head of the natural resources team, including managing the Gold and General fund and World Mining trust.
