Former Bank of England deputy joins GLG

GLG Partners has appointed Sir John Gieve, the former deputy governor of the Bank of England, as senior adviser.

Gieve will provide strategic advice to GLG on macro-economic and wider policy issues, focusing primarily on the $2.37bn UK equity business run by John White and Jason Mackay. His career includes 20 years at HM Treasury, and from January 2006 until February 2009, he was deputy governor of the Bank of England and an ex officio member of the Monetary Policy Committee.
