British Sky Broadcasting, the UK's number one pay-television company, must win at least half of ITV Digital's 300,000 top-paying subscribers to replace revenue it will lose from the failed rival, analysts said. BSkyB, whose chairman is Rupert Murdoch, could lose £70m a year in revenue from advertising and cancelled programme sales to ITV Digital, which shut down last month, analysts said.
