What made the news on 5 July 1999
Aberdeen Asset Management was to launch a split capital investment trust with a technology bias and the ability to invest in other split cap trusts. It was to be managed by John Pullar-Strecker. Although the technology stocks were expected to offer strong growth, it was anticipated they would not have the necessary yield required for a split cap. Therefore the trust was to be geared and allowed to invest in income shares from other split cap trusts and bonds.
