Scottish Widows is to temporarily suspend investment into its unit-linked life and pensions property funds. Heavy inflows have led to a significant increase in cash positions to around 30% due to a lack of appropriate properties in which the portfolio can invest. In this current environment, the group feels such an increase in cash holdings could have a negative impact on investment returns.
