International Investment's offshore forum is being held once again this year at the Hilton London Metropol on Thursday 25 May.
Speakers will include Guy Monson, chief investment officer of Sarasin Investment Management; HSBC fund manager Peter Harnett; Pierre Delaly, head of the infology investment committee at Lombard Odier and Michael Thomas of Martin Currie.
The theme of this year's forum is an examination of the current investment issues predominating in the offshore fund market, as well as the tax and trust planning issues affecting UK-based advisers. On the investment side, topics will include the UK market, information technology, old economy versus new economy and Japan.
Other speakers on offshore fund business include Investec Guinness Flight and Colin McLean of Scottish Value Management who will talk on hedge funds. On the tax and trust planning side, Susan Leech, financial planning manager at Clerical Medical International, will give a talk on advising corporate clients on handling cash reserves.
Richard Leeson, personal investment development manager at Scottish Equitable International, will address the future of offshore bonds in the UK. Nadya Renwick, tax and trust adviser at Scottish Widows International, will examine trust planning and IHT solutions. Other groups that are fielding speakers at the conference include Royal Skandia, Scottish Provident International, Norwich Union International and Scottish Mutual International.
The offshore forum will be the third held in the UK by International Investment and following successful conferences held in South Africa and Barcelona. Attendance at the forum will be free to qualifying delegates and will also include free overnight accommodation for those advisers travelling to London on the evening of the 24 May.
