Head of Goldman Sachs in Germany Tim Plaut is to leave the firm by the end of this year. After spearheading the banks business in Germany, he leaves to pursue other interests. Plaut has run Goldman's German operations since the 2001 rearrangement of management. Before then he was head of acquisitions in Austria and Germany for two years. Firmly established as the top investment bank in Germany, Goldman is also the top non-German bank in equity capital markets.
