balanced managed funds underweight in equities in russell mellon caps are top performers
Balanced managed funds in the Russell Mellon Caps universe that have been underweight equities have produced the best performance in the three years to 31 March. The funds showing the best performance over the period were Skandia Professional Cautious, MIR UK Balanced Exempt and UBS Global AM Managed Exempt, with annualised returns of -5.6%, -7% and -6.9% respectively. Over the first quarter of 2003, the Skandia fund also showed the strongest performance with a return of -0.4% against an average of -12.7%.
