German-based independent financial adviser AWD has bought Chase de Vere from Bank of Ireland in a £20m deal. AWD, which purchased UK IFA Thomson in November 2001, is expected to take control of the firm later this month, subject to FSA approval. The combined business will be led by AWD UK CEO, Douglas Gardner. He said: "This acquisition greatly strengthens our core proposition of providing market leading independent financial advice."
